Our home parish, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church of CR, posted earlier this week about hosting a “Liturgical Living” event for children & their families. Turns out, Saturday November 11th is the Feast Day of St. Martin of Tours!

{11/11 is Veteran’s Day, also…}

The church will be celebrating St. Martin’s Feast Day by hosting an evening of traditional Martinmas festivities! I have not seen very many of these “family-community” events being offered and am THRILLED to hear we may have more like it available in the future.

I’M SO EXCITED. How fun does this sound?!

I picked up a quick wal-mart order for things that made the most sense to me for creating a toddler “lantern” (i.e. something that would not be easily demolished within 60 seconds of trusting my almost 3yo son to hold onto).

I chose:

• an acrylic/plastic home decor candy dish to use as the lantern itself, minus lid
• stickers sheets of letters, butterflies, monster trucks, crosses and trees
• ModPodge Glossy to layer over the sticker-covered lanterns (hope it helps keep the stickers on AND gives the clear plastic lantern a little bit of texture)
